An elderly man who had a seven-hour stand-off with police at the former prison headquarters in Pembroke was denied bail when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.

James Dallas, 69, was charged with trespassing on a government property, four counts of throwing a corrosive substance at police and one count of threatening police on Happy Valley Road last Thursday.

Mr Dallas did not enter a plea as the matter will be heard in the Supreme Court on May 1.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe denied him bail.
