Man denies assaulting police officer

A Warwick man appeared in Magistrates’ Court today accused of assaulting a police officer.

Keevon Holdipp, 32, pleaded not guilty to the charge and another a charge of resisting arrest.

Both incidents were alleged to have occurred on June 15 in Southampton.

Holdipp also admitted driving dangerously and failing to stop for police on the same day.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe fined him $1,000 and banned him from the roads for 18 months for dangerous driving.

He also fined Holdipp $200 for failing to stop for police.

Mr Wolffe released Holdipp on $2,500 bail and adjourned the case until July 15.
