Teenagers charged with robbing Rubis station

Two teenagers have been charged with robbing a petrol station using an imitation firearm.OJ Campbell, 17, and Samuel Taylor Jr, 16, were accused of robbery, use of an imitation firearm to commit robbery and use of a motorcycle without the permission of the owner at Magistrates’ Court yesterday.The charges are in connection with an incident at the Rubis gas station on St John’s Road in Pembroke last Thursday.The defendants did not enter a plea because the matter must be heard by the Supreme Court.Mr Campbell and Mr Taylor, both from Pembroke, appeared at an online hearing of the court, held through the Zoom app.Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until the Supreme Court’s July arraignments session.He released Mr Campbell on $20,000 bail and Mr Taylor on $25,000 bail.Mr Wolffe also ordered both defendants to visit Hamilton Police Station three times a week, follow a curfew from 6am to 6pm, have no contact with each other and to be fitted with electronic tags when they are made available.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding criminal court cases.
