Man denies charge of death by dangerous driving

A man appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday in connection with a motorcycle collision that killed another man.

Ishmael Lightbourne, 40, was charged with causing the death of Shannon-Hugh Davis, 39, by driving with a dangerous drug in his system.

The incident is alleged to have happened on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish on March 1 last year.

Mr Lightbourne, from Pembroke, was not required to enter a plea as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until August 3 and released Mr Lightbourne on $10,000 bail.

It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding criminal court cases. This is to prevent any statements being published that may jeopardise the outcome of that case.
