Jackson wins Faries award

Action Jackson: the Academy star receives his award from Neil Speight, the BCB executive director

National Academy cricketer Sancho Jackson has been awarded the Kathleen Faries Award for Community Service after completing 540 hours of service to the community during the 2015-16 academic year.

“I chose the Bermuda Cricket Board to donate my award so that it can help the youth academy grow,” Jackson said. “I have been a part of the National Academy for a few years and it has been a great experience and even allowed me to play cricket in South Africa.”

Lloyd Fray, the BCB president, said: “I would like to congratulate Sancho on this laudable achievement and thank him for donating $500 in the name of this award to the Bermuda Cricket Board’s youth programme. A core part of being a National Academy player is to give back to the community and Sancho has set a fine example for other players to follow.”
