The Tokio Millennium Re Pee Wee “Have-a-go” cricket finished with the youngsters playing a game against their parents after a prize presentation at the Berkeley Institute.

During the course of the programme the children received a free introduction to the sport.

With 12 qualified coaches and the Bermuda Cricket Board National Academy players volunteering, the children received personalised attention as they learnt about the game.

“This year the Pee Wee programme was once again over subscribed with a total of 131 children registered,” Lloyd fray, the president of the Bermuda Cricket Board, said. “The Pee Wee programme is the foundation of our performance pathway that introduces the basics of cricket to five to seven-year-olds.

“We were pleased to offer the parent-coaching course to introduce parents to some fun drills they can do at home.

“I look forward to watching these young players move on to play in the Tokio Millennium Re 8 and Under League which starts on Saturday April 8 at the National Sports Centre.”
