Kamau Leverock top scored for Cardiff MCCU with 21 runs in his team’s first innings as they were skittled out for 98 against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl yesterday.

Batting at No 9, Leverock’s 58-ball knock included four boundaries on the second day of their three-day game. Leverock bowled 12 overs for 57 runs during Hampshire’s first innings of 289, which included a century from Michael Carberry on his return to the first-class game.

Carberry, a former England batsman, had a cancerous tumour diagnosed in July last year and missed the second half of the season.
