The battle of Bermudians in Hove ended in a draw between Sussex, featuring Delray Rawlins, and Kamau Leverock’s Cardiff MCCU.

Leverock took the wicket of Sussex’s Stiaan van Zyl in their second innings on Saturday after Rawlins, batting No 3, was out for a ten-ball duck, being trapped leg-before by Oliver Pike as Sussex followed their first-innings total of 317 for eight declared with 414.

Earlier Leverock, batting No 9, was out for four, caught by Chris Nash off the bowling of Jofra Archer, the former West Indies Under-19 fast-medium pacer who took five wickets as Cardiff fell to 141.

On Friday, Rawlins was dismissed by Leverock for 21 when he attempted to pull a short delivery but was caught behind.

The match petered out to a draw yesterday, with Cardiff finishing on 86 for three, chasing 590.
