St David’s face Cleveland in Junior Counties

St David’s and Cleveland will meet in Saturday’s Junior Eastern Counties final at Sea Breeze Oval after finishing first and second in the round-robin tournament.

St David’s topped the standings with 12 points after beating Bailey’s Bay by 34 runs, while Cleveland defeated Flatts by eight wickets to finish second. Bailey’s Bay had six points and Flatts three.

St David’s were all out for 135 with Dean Simons the high man with 43, while Dalin Richardson scored 23 and Iyuan Smith 21. Nirobi Mills claimed three for 23 from 7.2 overs and Deniché Hill three for 27 off seven overs to lead the Bay bowling. De’Nyi Thomas supported with two for 28 from six overs.

Bailey’s Bay replied with 101. Jaryd Richardson was the top batsman with 34 runs while Jazir Warner scored 11 and Tai Cariah 10. Oni Smith was outstanding with the ball for St David’s, taking five for 21 off six overs, while Isaiah O’Brien claimed two for six.

Flatts managed only 101 runs against Cleveland, with Hunter Outerbridge and Jamel Proctor each scoring 14 runs, followed by Logan Jones with 11. Kijuan Simons took two for five for Cleveland and Jabarie Darrell two for seven.

Najiyah Raynor, who made his senior counties debut for Cleveland over the weekend, was high man for them with 53 not out as they reached their target with the loss of two wickets. Domain Rabain scored 19 and Kijuan Simons 12.
