Two cricket games have been postponed this weekend because the Wellington Oval pitch is not ready.

St George’s were scheduled to play Western Stars today in the Open Legue Premier Division, but the game has been rescheduled for May 13 at St John’s Field. Tomorrow’s First Division match between Cleveland and Flatts at Wellington is also off, although no new date has been set.

St David’s, who lost their opening match against Bailey’s Bay, are at home to Southampton Rangers today while Bailey’s Bay host Somerset at Sea Breeze Oval.

Tomorrow, Western Stars play St David’s at Lord’s as Brian Hall of St David’s plays against his former team following his recent transfer. In the other match Somerset take on St George’s at Somerset, with both teams looking for their first win.

Somerset were held to a draw by Western Stars while St George’s lost to Southampton Rangers in a high-scoring match.

First Division matches today will see Somerset Bridge playing Devonshire Rec at National Sports Centre with PHC playing host to Willow Cuts.

Two more matches will take place tomorrow with PHC playing Devonshire Rec at home and Willow Cuts taking on Western Counties rivals Somerset Bridge at Southampton Oval.

Matches start at 10am with the team batting first allowed to bat for a maximum of 65 overs.
