Bermudian Marcus Scotland has been selected for the Surrey Cricket Foundation squad for the England and Wales Cricket Board Royal London U15 County Cup.

Surrey’s group comprises Middlesex, Essex, Kent and Suffolk in a home and away league with the top two sides advancing to the national quarter-fnals. This year’s 50-over white-ball competition begins on Sunday with a home game against Suffolk at the London School of Economics Sports Ground in New Malden, South London.

Scotland has represented the Surrey age groups since 2016 as an opening batsman with the under-13s. Last year, as an under 14, he made the highest individual score of 174 not out against Cambridgeshire and was one of Bermuda’s youngest players at last summer’s ICC Americas U19 World Cup Qualifier in Toronto.

On June 4, Scotland will represent London Schools against Surrey Schools at The Oval to contest the Hobbs Trophy that pits the best under 15 players attending state schools. The event has been played annually at the world famous ground in London for over fifty years.
