Lowe on form in strong win

Opener Maclaren Lowe, who has been in sparkling form this season, struck an unbeaten half-century to help guide Tuff Dogs to a convincing seven-wicket victory over Renegades in the Evening Cricket League.

Lowe’s 56 not out saw Tuff Dogs, who are seeking a fourth consecutive Premier League title, open up a six-point lead over their nearest rivals, The Associates, who have played a game more.

Durnferd Davis’s unbeaten 54 helped Renegades post 132-4, but Lowe and Kwame Tucker, with 31, made light of the run chase as Tuff Dogs galloped home with 21 balls to spare.

De Wicketest picked up their second win, beating Fine Leg Byes by 17 runs, but still have a fight on their hands to avoid going straight down after being promoted last season.

Meanwhile, opener Piers Carr’s 59 helped steer First Division leaders CV Chargers to a 48-run win over struggling St George’s, but PHC remained in touch after defeating bottom club High Flyaz by six wickets.
