Brave new world for Rawlins after Hundred draft

Delray Rawlins, the Bermuda all-rounder, was picked up by Southern Brave in the inaugural The Hundred draft today. The 22-year-old, who is on international duty in the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in Dubai, will earn at least £50,000 (about $65,000) after being added to Brave’s 15-player squad.Rawlins will play alongside close friend and Sussex team-mate Jofra Archer, Andre Russell, the West Indies all-rounder, Australia batsman David Warner and England batsman James Vince in one of the strongest-looking outfits in the tournament.Ninety-six players were selected in the first major player draft in British sport, with 474 going unsold. The eight teams have one last chance to add to their squads with the “wildcard” pick next summer. The Hundred is a professional 100-ball tournament in England and Wales run by the ECB starting in July 2020.
