Dad’s disappearance treated as ‘suspicious’

Welfare concerns: Jevon Daniels, 35, was last seen on Monday (Photograph supplied)

The disappearance of 35-year-old Jevon Daniels, who has not been seen since last Monday, is being treated as “suspicious” by police.

“Investigations indicate that there is a real concern that he could be in danger,” said Detective Sergeant Jason Smith, from the Bermuda Police Service’s Serious Crime Unit. Speaking outside Somerset Police Station on Saturday evening, Sergeant Smith acknowledged that the circumstances surrounding Mr Daniels’s disappearance were “sketchy”.

However, he added that the father of one from Sandys — who was reported missing on Thursday — was last seen in good spirits.

“This is the first time that Jevon has gone missing and [it is] uncharacteristic,” Sergeant Smith said. “Several family members and associates of Jevon have been interviewed and they are concerned about his wellbeing.”

There is no suggestion that Mr Daniels has simply left Bermuda unannounced, he added.

Mr Daniels is described as being between 5ft 2in and 5ft 5in, brown-skinned, with brown eyes and a close haircut. He also has a tattoo on his left forearm.

Sergeant Smith said: “There [is someone with] information that can assist us in locating Jevon. We are appealing to your conscience to come forward.

“Jevon is the father of a five-year-old son and is a very intricate part of his life. Today his son has not seen his father for seven days and he is missing him.

“Any information received can go a long way in locating Jevon. All information received will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
