Call for brawl witnesses to come forward

The Bermuda Police Service is asking the public to help identify people involved in yesterday’s brawl at Mangrove Bay that left two injured.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident, which left another man needing hospital treatment for a stab wound and an 18-year-old woman with injuries said not to be life-threatening.

“Reports suggest that at 5.20pm, Marine Police responded to a report of a waterside mêlée at Mangrove Bay,” a spokesman said.

“Upon police arrival, it appears that males in the water became combative towards each other throwing bottles and other projectiles.

“During that time, a male was stabbed and subsequently taken via a marine vessel to Watford Bridge where he later was transported to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.”

He added that the woman was treated by emergency medical technicians.

“Police arrested a male in connection with this incident and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may know the identity of the individuals involved or who may be in possession of cell phone footage of the incident to contact Sergeant Clifford Roberts Jr on 295-0011.”
