Two charged over hospital disturbance

Two men have been charged in connection with a disturbance that involved a weapon at the King Edward VII Memorial hospital on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the hospital at around 5pm.

According to police, two men – 35 and 28 years old – were injured in an altercation. Details on what sparked the incident were not immediately provided by investigators.

On Sunday, a representative with the Bermuda Hospitals Board said that the incident involved to visitors in a public area of the general wing of the hospital.

The two men “have been treated, discharged and arrested in connection with the incident”, police said.

Both remain in police custody. Details on possible charges were not immediately provided.
