Man who fled police subject of viral video’
Police issued a statement this afternoon on a “viral video” depicting a male motorcyclist fleeing arrest.
According to a spokesman, officers were on mobile patrol in Warwick at about 9.45pm on Saturday when they encountered the man near the Warwick Esso Service Station on Middle Road, and approached him regarding a traffic offence.
The man rode off and attempted to elude officers in the Smith’s Avenue, Warwick area off Khyber Pass.
However, other officers were already in the area conducting a proactive policing initiative.
This caused the rider, believed to be a 21-year-old man, to drop the motorcycle and make good his escape on foot.
Inquiries continue into the matter.
