Man, 52, killed in Warwick domestic incident

A 52-year-old man died last night after an incident at a residence in Warwick.Detective Sergeant Jason Smith said at the scene: “We can confirm that a man has died as result of this incident and a man has been taken into custody.”He added that the “circumstances of the case are still developing.”Police rushed to the house on St Mary’s Road just after midnight.A police spokesman said: “At around 12.05am, police received a report of a domestic incident at a residence on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick.”He added: “A second caller reported one of the individuals believed to be involved was carrying a knife and that another person may have been injured.“As police headed to the scene they observed a male lying bleeding in the roadway on St. Mary’s Road and requested an ambulance.”The 52-year-old male was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.The spokesman added: “A 26-year-old male was taken into custody in connection with this incident.” Anyone who can assist the inquiry should contact police on 211 or use the confidential and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477.
