A man who totted up 32 demerit points on his driver’s licence was fined and banned from the roads for 18 months yesterday.

Magistrates’ Court heard that Danshun Swan’s bike was pulled over by police on Crow Lane near Hamilton and ticketed for travelling at 65km/h.

The incident happened on November 23 last year.

Cindy Clarke, prosecutor, told the court that Swan, 24, had 22 points for speeding offences and 10 for failure to have a valid licence. Drivers with a total of more than 12 points can be disqualified. Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Swan a total of $1,100 for the two offences in addition to the driving ban.
