Motorcyclist seriously hurt in crash

A teenager was taken to hospital after his motorcycle crashed with a car last night.

The car driver, a 59-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after the incident on South Road, Warwick, at about 10.15pm.

The victim, an 18-year-old Southampton man, was hurt in the collision, which happened as the car attempted to turn on to Warwick Lane.

He was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was being treated this morning for non-life threatening injuries.

The car driver and his male front seat passenger were not injured.

Traffic was diverted while officers carried out inquiries at the scene.
