A crash between two trucks left a man injured and blocked a stretch of North Shore Road in Smith’s yesterday.

A 33-year-old, who was understood to be a passenger in one of the trucks, suffered a leg injury and was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where his condition was later described as stable.

The crash involved vehicles from Dunkley’s Dairy and Bermuda Forwarders and happened about 9.20am near St James’ Court in Flatts.

Stephen Dunkley, the dairy’s vice-president and general manager, said: “The driver of my truck is fine, a little shaken up.”

He added that both vehicles were “pretty damaged”.

A spokesman for Bermuda Forwarders declined to comment because he was waiting on further details.

Police, who appealed for witnesses, said traffic was diverted for about two hours as the crash scene was examined.
