Two university students have been awarded $5,000 by the Hamilton Parish Council scholarship committee.

The awards went to Candice Albouy, who is pursuing a degree in social work at Clark Atlanta University in Georgia, and Andeasha Busby, who is studying real estate at the University of Reading in England.

A spokeswoman said: “These two young ladies achieved the two highest scores of the applicants interviewed. The scholarship committee was impressed by their presentation, oral speaking, and plans to give back to the Hamilton Parish community.”

“Both recipients have signed an agreement to give back to the community and provide updates to the council on their scholastic endeavours.

“We applaud them and wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
