Schoolchildren will show off their talents at a Youth Maker Showcase today.

The event, part of the Parent Expo, aims to celebrate the “innovation, creativity, and resourcefulness” of young people.

Wayne Caines, Minister of National Security, said: “The Youth Maker Showcase is such an exciting event that provides parents and students with an opportunity to be introduced to the organisations that help our youth with innovative learning opportunities and with character-building activities.”

The showcase will be held in the CedarBridge Academy gym from 3pm to 6.30pm.

The Parent Expo, based on the theme of “empowering families”, is organised by Imagine Bermuda, and principals from public and private schools.

Classes range from effective study skills to dealing with child abuse, as well as health issues and the impact of social media.

It will run from 4pm to 8pm at the CedarBridge café, and will include 15 workshops, a free shuttle bus from Hamilton, soup and sandwiches, and free child-minding.
