Students are reminded that the deadline for a scholarship designed to attract more Bermudians into the insurance industry is Monday

The scholarship is managed by Hamilton Group’s community giving committee and amounts to $25,000 a year for the last two years of undergraduate study.

The group’s website said: “We want to make sure that the talent required to keep Bermuda at the forefront of the industry can be found right at home.

“One of the ways we aim to do this is to support the education of a Bermudian who’s considering a career in insurance.

“We’ve set up The Hamilton Scholarship to encourage Bermudians or holders of a Permanent Resident’s Certificate to look at insurance.”

The company added: “We’re not worried about what they’re studying at college or university. Today’s industry needs critical thinkers who will help steer our companies to the future with bold ideas and bright minds.”
