Robin Stempel riding Rossano Royal 2

Robin Stempelís hopes of representing Bermuda in dressage at the Adequan/FEI North American Youth Championship have been dashed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The United States Equestrian Federation has cancelled the event, which was scheduled to be held in Michigan from August 4 to 9 for riders aged between 12 and 21.

Stempel, 17, and her horse Rossano Royal 2 required three more pass scores from the individual and team elements of qualification, having already secured four out of the seven required, before Covid-19 put paid to qualifying opportunities for riders in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
