West and Burnie claim honours at Turtle Hill

Eric West and Katrin Burnie won the Bermuda Golf Association’s Mixed Foursome Tournament last weekend when they carded a two-day score of 104 at Turtle Hill Golf Club at the Fairmont Southampton.

West and Burnie finished three strokes ahead of runners-up Mark Phillips and Kaitlin O’Sullivan on 107 while Jarryd Dillas and Ebonie Burgess finished third on 109.

First flight gross winners were Kheary Swan and Lucinda Bean on 111, eight strokes ahead of Steve and Liz Hickmott.

In the net first flight, Michael and Sylvia Tavares took top honours when their 96 beat Richard and Donna Jones by a single stroke. Three other pairs — Joe and Kourtney Fassler, Daren Heyliger and Pat Morgan and Yves Chambaz and Melinda Frith — finished on 98 in a close finish for the top net prize.

Swan and Bean just missed out winning the net first-flight title after shooting an 87. Keith Cassidy and Joan Wood-Cassidy took the title with their 86.

Steve Hickmott won Saturday’s closest to the pin prize while Burgess was the women’s winner. Stefano Barioni won the men’s closest to the pin with Melinda Frith the closest for the women.
