XL Catlin won the Corona Golf Super6 tournament

XL Catlin claimed the title in the inaugural Corona Golf Super6 tournament at Belmont Hills Golf Club on Thursday night.

The title race, which was played over six Thursdays, went down to the wire, with XL Catlin, led by team principle Dervin Wright, holding their nerve to finish on 144 points.

Dark n Stormies, who finished just two points behind on 142, won week 6 — where double points were on offer — helped by the extra ten points they picked up for including a female member in their foursome.

It was not enough to overhaul XL Catlin, though, who placed third in week 6.

Apex Physio, wh did not enter a team in the first week, finished bottom of the eight-team league,

The innovative six-hole tournament was launched in an effort to widen the game’s appeal and help reverse a decline in participation on the island.
