Leseur looking to improve

Kenny Leseur

Kenny Leseur will work on his game over the next few days leading up to the Bermuda Qualifying Tournament after a disappointing second round at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Academy Cup in Florida at the weekend.Leseur was sharing the lead in the boys 14-15 age group with eventual winner Jack Snedaker after shooting an opening round even-par 72 at the Celebration Golf Course. However, the 15-year-old could not maintain his form in the final round on Sunday when he shot 80 to finish ninth in a field of 19 players. “It was a tough day, nothing really went my way,” Leseur said. “I couldn’t make a putt on the first eight holes, but then made a nice one on nine. “Then on 10, 11 and 12, I had three ‘lip outs’ in a row, and on 13 I hit one way left and made triple [bogey]. “I’m not mad how I played, just need to clean up a couple of things to get ready to come back to Bermuda.”The qualifier will be held next Wednesday and Thursday at Port Royal, with the top two finishers qualifying for the Bermuda Championships from October 31 to November 3. Registration for the qualifier closed on Monday, an event open to Bermudians only.
