Flu shots available from today

With the advent of flu season, vaccines will be available starting today at the island’s health centres, as well as the offices of most physicians.

For those who wish to get their shots quickly, the Flu Express drive-through service is running at Warwick Camp on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The shots cost $10 each for adults and children, with those of 65 and older getting the seasonal vaccine for free. On each of its three days, the Flu Express runs from 10am to 2pm. Payments are taken in cash only, and the public are asked to dress so that the nurse on duty has easy access to the upper arm.

Shots are available at the Hamilton Health Centre from 8.30am to 11.30am on weekdays, as well as Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm at the Somerset centre and Fridays from 2pm to 4pm at the St George’s centre.
