The Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre in St George’s is closing tomorrow for renovations, and is expected to reopen in mid-February.

The facility is to have its vinyl floors replaced, along with receiving minor repairs and upgrades.

Marshall Minors, the vice-president of facilities management and estates for Bermuda Hospitals Board, said the job had been designated to fall outside of hurricane season and ahead of the America’s Cup and peak summer months.

Initial notification of the renovations were given last year, with updates to come once the work is complete.

Some of the centre’s staff will be reassigned to the emergency department at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to manage the expected increase in traffic while the centre is closed.

A spokeswoman reminded the public to be sparing in the use of the emergency department, and to visit their doctor if their situation is not urgent.
