The need for more nurses was highlighted last week by Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health.

Ms Wilson, who proclaimed last Saturday as International Nurses Day and May as Nurses Month at an event at City Hall, said the Bermuda Nursing Council has more than 800 people registered as nurses.

She added that more registered nurses would be required in the near future to cope with Bermuda’s ageing population, the expansion of life-sustaining technology and the growth of home healthcare services.
