Contact tracing was under way last night for four new cases of Covid-19, the health ministry said.Three cases are known to have come in from overseas and the source of the fourth is under investigation.All four are in isolation.A ministry spokeswoman said the Bermuda Police Service announced on Monday that two of its officers had fallen victim to the coronavirus and that one of them had no recent travel history.She added no contact between the two officers had been identified, but the investigation continued.The spokeswoman said that two of the new cases were recent travellers who had clear pre-departure tests and arrival tests.She added that both were on “mobile quarantine” and allowed to move freely because of the clear tests.Health restrictions require anyone arrivals in Bermuda to undergo a compulsory 14-day public health monitoring.Rules include daily self-monitoring of temperature and symptoms, to be reported to the Epidemiology and Surveillance team.Mask-wearing and physical distancing are also required, along with mandatory tests. All possible contacts with the latest cases of Covid-19 have been advised to self-quarantine for 14 days and avoid public places.They were also told to stay at home for the duration of their quarantine as symptoms of the illness can take up to 14 days to develop.The spokeswoman said the quarantined travellers were advised to move about “with utmost care” during that time, and would not be free to move about until a clear their test on Day 14.It was announced that the Cabinet had reviewed the requirements for returning residents.Any travellers arriving on the island without a pre-departure test taken in the country of departure will be required to test on arrival and quarantine for at least eight days from next Tuesday.They must produce a negative test result after Day 8 to be allowed out of quarantine.The spokeswoman said details on the new restrictions would be posted on the government website soon.The news came as the health ministry reported last night that 759 test results came back yesterday and all were clear. The total number of cases stands at 166 and 147 have recovered. There have been nine fatalities.There are ten active cases, all under public health monitoring and none are in hospital. A total of 62 cases came in from overseas and 85 were on-island transmissions with known contacts.There have been 19 cases with on-island transmissions with an unknown contact, with one case still under investigation.The island’s status remained at “sporadic cases” and the seven-day average of the real-time reproduction number is less than 1.
