Preserve Marriage seeks to deny rights of Bermudians

Denying rights: Preserve Marriage should not have charity status (Photograph by Akil Simmons)

Dear Sir,

Preserve Marriage claims that it upholds the values of traditional marriage. It does not ... traditional marriage is already upheld by the Government.

There are no laws preventing men and women who wish to marry. What Preserve Marriage is in place to do is to deny the right to get married to gay couples.

Gay people are not saying that straight people should not be able to get married; they just want the same rights as their fellow Bermudians.

Preserve Marriage seeks to deny rights to Bermudians and is in violation of international human rights legislation and basic human decency. If you don’t like gay marriage, don’t marry a gay.

This organisation should not be granted charitable status.
