Dear Sir,

The nineteenth Annual Seniors Party hosted by Bermuda Overseas Missions and Carol Clarke, was held on December 2 at St Paul AME Centennial Hall with a bumper attendance of 367 people.

The afternoon commenced with the master of ceremonies, Sean Tucker, being introduced by Ms Clarke, the event planner.

With president of Bermuda Overseas Missions David Thompson abroad, Owen Martin delivered the welcome on his behalf. The Reverend Alistair Bennette, pastor of Christ Church Warwick, offered the opening prayer and blessing.

The Reverend Nicholas Tweed offered remarks as the host pastor of St Paul AME Church.

Malinda Jennings ministered in song, while Vernette Dorian gave a selection of poetry reading. Lunch was then served and raffles were drawn throughout.

Presentations were then made to Robertson’s Drugstore/E. Joy Rothwell, Anne Beach and Norris Burgess Sr for their continued support to the seniors party. The Right Reverend Lloyd Duncan delivered the meditation for the event.

The Five Keys, Bethel Male Voice and a Youth Performing Arts Show Choir, directed by Ms Jennings, were the afternoon’s entertainment. Santa paid a visit also. Leslie Clarke-Robinson and little Naché Anderson-Clarke were raffle assistants to the master of ceremonies.

Junior Leaders and general public members were volunteers, which serviced the setting in fine style.

Jeanne Atherden, Leader of the Opposition, attended. Michael Scott represented the Premier, David Burt, who was abroad, and Barny Bobin-Martin represented the Governor.

A hearty thanks to everyone, including the sponsors and donors listed here:
