A former policeman’s shame

Under the cosh: Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley (File photograph by Blaire Simmons)

Dear Sir,

You are to be congratulated on the publicity given to the crime against defenceless lambs at Westmore Farm in Sandys last week. You are absolutely correct to say that it was an unholy, vile, depraved, act of unadulterated evil.

It is impossible to understand the nonsensical decision by the Commissioner of Police to make a formal complaint to the Media Council of Bermuda.

Until now, Mr Corbishley had made an excellent debut as Commissioner of Police, but this action has, I am sorry to say, reversed that.

Although it is not entirely relevant, I make the above comment as an ex-policeman and couple it with the statement that this is the only time I can recall that I am ashamed to say that I was a member of the Bermuda Police.
