Two Bermudian businessmen have imported a ground-breaking road-legal mini jeep.

The rugged 800cc Torc Deliverance two-seater was brought to Bermuda by Jamie Lovell and Alex Marshall of Team Oni Racing Club — with the first example already on the roads.

And Mr Lovell said the ten-foot long car, which comes with a standard soft-top and safety roll cage, could be customised with a range of wheel options and a hardtop if required.

Mr Marshall added: “It’s perfect for the summer and for all year round. And it’s the only A class vehicle that can tow a jet ski — it packs a punch.”

The tiny Asian-built car with the off-road looks of an SUV can also be ordered with four-wheel drive as well as a bigger 1100 engine option.

A four-seater model is also available.

Mr Marshall said: “The Torc Deliverance is one of the few vehicles we will be offering with a petrol engine.

Mr Lovell added: “It’s very low emissions and 25 dollars fills the gas tank.”

He said the Deliverance — named after one of the ships constructed by Sir George Somers when his Sea Venture was wrecked in Bermuda in 1609 — was aimed at younger drivers, outdoors people and those who wanted a sporty machine to relive their youth.

Mr Marshall said: “We’re very proud to be Bermudian entrepreneurs and we’re pushing everything Bermudian.

“When the first one was delivered, it was sitting in Jamie’s yard and lots of people were coming up to stare at it.

“We’ve had a lot of interest from women customers as well.”

The $24,175 right-hand drive Deliverance comes with a standard five gear manual transmission, but can be ordered with an auto box if wanted.
