BGA gears up to supply superyachts

John Tomlinson

Food and drink suppliers BGA has teamed up with the new Caroline Bay resort to supply a fleet of superyachts expected to flood into the development’s new marina for the America’s Cup.

John Tomlinson, president of BGA and Pitt & Co, said: “Our group of businesses is uniquely well-placed to deliver excellence to our high-profile guests, from the best quality Linz meats and freshest produce to the finest wines, champagne and cigars.”

BGA will supply fresh and frozen food, as well as pharmaceuticals, and ice, while the group can also offer other services, including client charter registration assistance, refuelling, Customs & Immigration clearance help, berth reservations, concierge services.

A new digital shopping portal has been created by BGA and the service will cover Caroline Bay marina and yachts anchored in the Great Sound, Little Sound and Granaway Deep.

Ralph Richardson, CEO of Caroline Bay Marina, said: “One of the challenges Bermuda will face during the America’s Cup event will be the difficulty in servicing the largest visiting flotilla that has ever graced our harbours and bays.

“There has been no event that will tax our ability to provision vessels such as this one, especially over such an extended period.

“This new partnership with BGA will not only augment the services provided by Caroline Bay Marina, it will also provide a convenient location to supply provisions for the scores of vessels at anchor in the Little Sound, Great Sound and Granaway Deep.

“We would like to thank John Tomlinson and his team for joining us as we collectively strive to provide world class service for this world class event.”
