Three Graces Day Spa has expanded to a third location, and this week held the grand opening of its spa concession at the island’s newest hotel, The Loren at Pink Beach.

The spa and salon venture has also created a number of jobs.

It is eight years since the spa management company, run by Aisha and Roderick Spencer, opened its first spa, Three Graces Serenity at Pompano Beach Club. Then, two years ago, it took over the spa operations at Newstead Belmont Hills Resort, in Paget.

“It has been a great journey since we began in 2009. We started out small and then we went to Belmont where we were able to change it around,” said Mrs Spencer.

“We cater to different guests at Pompano, while at Newstead about 90 per cent of our customers are locals.”

At The Loren, the spa caters for the guests staying at the luxury hotel as well as welcoming locals.

Named the Spa at The Loren, it had a soft opening in March and has been busy ever since. A formal opening event was held on Monday.

“The hotel has been full at the weekends and this has been reflected at the spa,” said Mrs Spencer.

“We have been trying it out little by little with hotel guests and some locals.”

At its new location, Three Graces has hired three therapists and two hairstylists.

Treatments available include a selection of massages, facials and deep pore cleaning, reflexology, Indian head massage, pedicures and manicures.

Some of the treatment packages also feature access to the hotel’s pool and gym.

The spa has four treatment rooms, including a couples room, two manicure and two pedicure stations, and a three-chair hair salon. There are men’s and women’s locker rooms, dry heat wood saunas, and a relaxation lounge with ocean views.

The spa has been themed after the elements wood, metal, air and water, which are incorporated in various ways throughout the spa.

Three Graces has benefited from the arrival of Christina Dodwell as general manager. Ms Dodwell has extensive experience in the hospitality sector, including as an assistant to spa managers on the island and in the US.

“We had never taken on a manager before, but we needed help and recognised the opportunity before us so went after her and she had an immediate impact on the business and has been instrumental in helping us get the new addition ready for business,” said Mrs Spencer.

Reflecting on the journey the spa management company has taken over the past eight years, she said: “We started at Pompano and risked every penny we had with no income but we believed in ourselves.

“We have been blessed with amazing staff and clients along the way and have not been afraid to take on new opportunities or risk when they were presented to us.”

The Spa at The Loren is open every day from 9am to 7pm.
