Clarien ATMs back online after storm outage

Back online: Clarien Bank's ATMs are up and running after a hurricane-related outage

Clarien Bank ATM machines are up and running again after the impacts of a Caribbean hurricane put them temporarily out of order.

Some customers were surprised to learn that they could not withdraw any cash at the bank’s machines and posted their experience on social media.

A notice on the machines stated: “Please be advised that Clarien ATMs are currently out of service due to Hurricane Maria. Non-Clarien ATMs may be used without fee during this outage.”

Michael DeCouto, Clarien’s chief marketing officer said: “The Clarien Bank ATM service experienced a temporary outage due to impacts to service providers in the Caribbean from Hurricane Maria.

“The island-wide ATM network was restored on Sunday, September 24.”
