The first races for September started at the RUBiS Southside Raceway on Sunday. A major oil spill on the track forced an emergency track layout change and a delayed start for the day.

Races began shortly before 2pm with the combined Minibike Junior and Senior class taking to the track first. Aeziah Divine’s consistency throughout the season thus far has helped him to strengthen his confidence and skill in taking home first place in all three of his heats for the day. Kymaree Pitt went head-to-head with Divine for several heats and took a close second in the juniors.

Nathaniel Binega-Northcott, Keimari Burchall, and Kevin Fraser all took in a first place for their respective heats in the Minibike Senior division.

The seniors displayed their grit throughout the afternoon with Burchall and Northcott pushing their bikes and abilities to the brink. Both teens had to find alternative motorcycles after losing their bikes to the battle with Northcott losing his third tire in as many race days over the last four weeks.

Devon “Red” Bailey and Nasaje Anderson went head to head in the most intense fight for the first place title in the combined scooter heats. With the two rivals representing both ends of the racing spectrum, Bailey and Anderson are the current faces for the veteran and youth rivalry that has hit the raceway this season.
