Club raise funds for California trip

Cleaning up: Nathaniel Binega-Northcott and his sister Samantha Binega-Northcott took part in the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club's Trash-a-Thon, covering the Shelly Bay railway trail, at the weekend

The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club youth division hosted a Trash-a-Thon on the railway trails across the island at the weekend.

Twenty-one volunteers spent a combined total of 46 hours cleaning the trails at Shelly Bay, Devonshire, Smith’s and Southampton, collecting eights bags of waste, five bags of recyclables, and a bucket of broken glass.

The club have raised more than $3,000 through pledges to go towards covering the travel costs of sending ten riders to California’s M1GP racetrack for their first international competition in April.

It will be the first time the BMRC has sent riders overseas to train and compete for ten years.
