A motorcyclist is critically ill after suffering suspected head injuries in an accident involving a truck and a car on Middle Road yesterday.

The 35-year-old man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital following the crash near the junction with Christ Church Lane, Devonshire, shortly before 1pm.

At 6.30pm, police said he was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Traffic was diverted from the area for two hours while collision investigators processed the scene.

Witnesses are urged to call the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.
