Look out for Bermudians in New York

The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club has launched a contest to find people in New York dressed in Bermuda-style outfits.

The social media competition will run during the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in New York on May 7 and 8, and is designed to boost Bermuda’s profile overseas.

To participate, people need to upload a photograph of someone in New York who is wearing Bermuda shorts and knee-high socks and tag #HamiltonPrincessAC on Twitter or Instagram or post the photo directly on the hotel’s Facebook page.

That gives them a chance to win a weekend stay at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, along with a $200 spa gift certificate.

Allan Federer, general manager at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said in a statement: “As the official host hotel of the 2017 America’s Cup, we’re always looking for creative ways to increase Bermuda’s visibility as the event gets closer

“There’s nothing more Bermudian than seeing someone dressed in Bermuda shorts and socks and we want create buzz about Bermuda and the hotel at the event in New York next month.

“We encourage anyone attending the America’s Cup World Series event in New York to participate.”

Winners will be announced via social media in the two weeks following the race.

The hotel’s Facebook page is at www.Facebook/PrincessBermuda, and the Twitter handle and Instagram account are @PrincessBermuda.
