The Kiwanis Clubs of Bermuda have partnered with the international educational organisation Up With People to congratulate the visiting group on their 50th anniversary.

As well as performing at CedarBridge Academy today and tomorrow, Up With People members have been volunteering to assist community projects and help charities such as Keep Bermuda Beautiful.

The secretary and former president of the Kiwanis Clubs of Bermuda, Leleath Bailey, said: “We are elated that we were chosen to partner with them.

“We are affiliated with Up With People through Kiwanis International. We were contacted last year and asked if we could partner with and assist them during their visit to Bermuda. We have helped to put them in contact with host families, we have helped them with their publicity and we are going to hold a luncheon for them at CedarBridge Academy along with members of local Kiwanis Clubs.

“Some of our junior members will also get to go backstage after Up With People’s performance.

“I just did a clean-up with them for Earth Day under Keep Bermuda Beautiful and this is just one of the projects that they have done since arriving in Bermuda. Our clubs are about doing service to the community.”
