Hundreds descended on the Olde Towne yesterday for an marine extravaganza that showcased the best of Bermuda’s maritime life.

Children were given their first taste of sailing thanks to the Endeavour programme, while scores got the chance to tour the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences’ research vessel.

The event, which is the first of its kind to be held in the East End, was organised by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation and saw more than 50 vendors, from water sports organisations to boat dealers, take part.

The Marine Expo, which coincided with the launch of the Olde Towne Market on Water Street, provided visitors with the opportunity to watch an array of watercraft of all sizes dance across St George’s Harbour.
