Motorcyclist suffers serious leg injuries

A motorcyclist suffered serious leg injuries in a collision with a taxi yesterday evening.

The accident occurred at the junction of Somerset Road and Cambridge Road at 6.20pm.

Police said it appeared that the taxi, travelling west on Main Road, turned into Cambridge Road when the collision occurred. The motorcyclist was travelling east.

According to a police spokeswoman, the 25-year-old rider has been admitted into a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for “serious leg injuries”.

“His 22-year-old passenger was treated for injuries to his hand and subsequently released from hospital,” the spokeswoman added.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for witnesses who may have seen this collision to contact them at 295-0011.
