The Chewstick Foundation is to hold its postponed Fire Exhibition and Art Auction tomorrow.

The event, postponed due to Hurricane Nicole, is due to take place in the Chubb Building (formerly ACE) from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The show will display art by Chewstick members and supporters and will run until November 10. The venue is open from 10am to 4pm on weekdays.

In June, the Chubb Charitable Foundation, pledged its support and became a corporate sponsor of the Gombey Gallery at the Chewstick Culture Hub. Following the fire that destroyed the facility, Chubb employees rallied to help with a fundraising drive. Together with matching funds from the Foundation, donations totalled $6,300.

A Chewstick spokeswoman said: “The exhibition will feature artefacts salvaged from the fire allowing attendees an intimate look at some of the damaged items and learn more about Chewstick’s mission.

“Funds raised by the Art Auction will benefit The Chewstick Foundation and will feature the works of Graham Foster, Antoine Hunt, Trevor Todd, Samantha Gosling, Amanda Temple, Ami Zanders, Stephan Johnstone and many more. In addition, live performances will take place during the opening, showcasing the range of talents that Chewstick supports within the community.”

Anyone interested in learning more about the organisation, participating during the recovery or in submitting art for the Fire Exhibition is encouraged to visit www.chewstick.org, or call 292 2439 for further details.
