PAC to host public hearing tomorrow

The Public Accounts Committee is set to continue its examination of the airport redevelopment plan at a public hearing tomorrow.

According to an official statement, the committee has invited Anthony Manders, the financial secretary, to appear in a public session for comment on the recent “Airport Redevelopment Options — Financial Comparison” analyses and report, prepared by the Ministry of Finance.

PAC will also meet with Craig Mayor for discussion on a report entitled “Bermuda Airport Development — Exigent Economic Risks and Inadequate Due Diligence”, which he produced and recently submitted to Members of the Legislature for their information.

The committee, chaired by David Burt, is made up of Members of Parliament from both parties and is authorised by the House of Assembly to closely examine and report on matters relating to the accounts of the Government of Bermuda and, in particular, to investigate findings reported by the Auditor-General in the Auditor’s Annual and other Special Reports.

Members of the public are invited to attend and observe the hearing to be held at St Paul AME Church Centennial Hall on Court Street. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 2.30pm.
