New Governor Rankin arrives

The new Governor, John Rankin, takes his first steps in Bermuda after flying in from London on Sunday night

Ginny Ferson, the Acting Governor, Michael Dunkley, the Premier, and David Burt, the Leader of the Opposition, were among the dignitaries on hand to greet John Rankin, the new Governor, when he arrived in Bermuda last night.

Mr Rankin told the assembled group that he was delighted to be in Bermuda and looked forward to working with them in the best interests of all Bermudians.

The new Governor will be sworn in at a ceremony in the Town of St George at 11am today.
