Crash victim stable in intensive care

An American visitor injured in a crash on Christmas Eve remains in intensive care in a stable condition.

According to a police spokesman, the 48-year-old was riding a rental cycle when he hit the kerb on South Road near the junction with Ocean Sands Road in Warwick at about 11pm.

He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment for his injuries, which were not considered serious at the scene.

However, he was later admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, where he remained at last check this morning.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses who have not already come forward should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.
